Dashboard is the home page of the app, displaying your vehicle's real-time status and recent activities with an intelligent layout.
Design Philosophy
The Dashboard uses a smart prioritization system to automatically display the most important information based on your vehicle's current state. Charging widgets appear at the top while charging, location map switches to driving mode when in Drive, and alerts are prioritized. This ensures you always see what matters most at a glance.

Live Charging Process
API 2.5 adds current-session samples directly to the Dashboard charging widget.
- Draggable power, SOC, rated range, voltage, and battery-heater timeline
- 5-second refresh while actively charging on supported API versions
- Voltage spread appears only when real sampled voltage data exists
Temperature & Tire History
API 2.5 turns climate and tire widgets into history drilldowns instead of one-time status cards.

Charging Cost Management
Smart Billing with Geofence & Time-of-Use
Settings → Locations & Cost
One of Mytess's signature features: automatic cost tracking using geofences and time-of-use pricing. Perfect for users with peak/off-peak rates.
Location Management
Set up charging locations with custom rates
- Visual map-based location selection
- Custom location names (Home, Work, Supercharger, etc.)
- Adjustable geofence radius (20-500 meters)
- Base rate per kWh for each location
- Search for locations with auto-fill
Time-of-Use Pricing
Configure peak/off-peak rates for accurate cost tracking
- Multiple time slots per location (e.g., Valley/Peak/Super-Peak)
- Minute-level precision for time ranges
- Day-of-week selection (weekday/weekend pricing)
- Individual rates for each time slot
- Automatic matching based on charge start time
Batch Cost Update
Retroactively update historical charging costs
- 1In Locations list, swipe right on a location (or long press)

Parking Fee Rules
Real vehicle-use cost now includes parking fees when the API provides place-linked parking data.

- Preview and batch update parking fees without changing charging cost
- Stats, trips, and share cards can include vehicle-use cost with parking fees
Geofence Auto-Recognition
How it works:
- App monitors vehicle location in background
- When entering a geofence, location is automatically identified
- Time-of-use slots are matched based on charge start time
- Cost is calculated automatically using the matched rate
- No manual input needed - fully automatic

Alerts for hard braking events on highways. Tracks emergency stops and recommends safer following distances.

Cost Review
Recorded spend and estimated use cost without mixing meanings
Where: Stats > Cost & Charging > Cost Review
API 2.6 adds a period-scoped cost review that separates recorded spend from estimated vehicle-use cost, so missing, explicit zero, partial, and estimated values stay understandable.
Requires mytess API 2.6+
Older API services keep the legacy cost chart. Cost Review appears when the API returns a supported contract snapshot for the selected period.
From snapshot to evidence
The review starts compact, then lets you inspect the records behind each cost story without losing the selected period.
Place Insights
Frequent places with drive, charge, and parking context
Where: Settings > Map & Location > Place Insights, or tap supported place names in activity rows and details
API 2.5 groups activity around meaningful places, so a location becomes a compact review surface instead of just a pin on the map.

Each place adapts to the evidence available for that location.
Sentry Event Review
Parking security triggers with time, place, and session context
Where: Dashboard current-parking prompt, Place Detail, or Settings > Map & Location > Sentry Events
API 2.5.1 turns server-recorded Sentry triggers into a reviewable archive instead of leaving them as one-off parking alerts.
Requires mytess API 2.5.1+
The event list appears when your mytesla/teslamateapi service exposes Sentry event data. Older API versions keep the rest of Map & Location available.
One review path
The feature links the quick reminder, place context, and full event index so you can trace what happened later.
